About Us

Who We Are

Upper Edge Physio was built on a simple but often overlooked reality: people don’t need more noise in healthcare and fitness. They need clarity, precision, and systems that actually match how the body adapts.

This company operates at the intersection of physical therapy, strength training, and performance coaching. While those worlds often get blended together online, we intentionally keep them separate where it matters because how you treat an injury in a clinical setting is very different from how you build long-term strength and performance.

Upper Edge Physio was founded by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy with a background in both clinical rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. That dual experience informs everything from how we assess movement to how we design training systems, but the way services are delivered depends entirely on the setting.

Cash-Based Physical Therapy Model (Why It Exists)

Upper Edge Physio operates as a cash-based physical therapy practice by design, not by accident.

This model allows us to remove many of the constraints that come with traditional insurance-based care, namely, restricted visit times, limited treatment options, and coding requirements that often dictate care more than clinical reasoning does.

By operating outside of insurance, we are able to:

  • Spend more time with each client when needed
  • Focus on individualized clinical reasoning instead of billing codes
  • Avoid arbitrary visit limitations that interrupt care progress
  • Deliver treatment based on actual presentation, not insurance approval

In-person physical therapy remains strictly clinical in nature and includes evaluation, diagnosis, and hands-on treatment delivered under applicable state licensure laws. This is not fitness coaching or generalized programming, it is healthcare delivered in a clinical setting.

Remote Strength Training & Coaching

Separate from clinical care, Upper Edge Physio also offers remote strength training and performance programming.

This side of the business is not physical therapy and does not involve diagnosis or treatment. Instead, it is designed to help individuals build strength, improve movement capacity, and follow structured progression in a fitness environment.

This is where the 6–8 week training blocks apply.

Structured Training Blocks (Remote Programming Only)

Out remote fitness community programs are organized into 6–8 week training cycles built around progressive overload and adaptation. The goal is not constant novelty, it is controlled progression. Everything is delivered through the TrainHerioc App!

Within each block:

  • Exercise selection remains consistent to allow skill acquisition and adaptation
  • Weekly adjustments are made to reps, load, tempo, or volume
  • Progress is tracked through structured increases in training demand

This approach is intentionally stable because strength and tissue adaptation require repeated exposure to the same patterns over time.

Programs are available in 3, 4, and 5-day training splits depending on availability and training capacity.

1:1 Coaching (Fully Individualized)

1:1 coaching is completely separate from standardized programming.

Unlike the structured remote plans, 1:1 work is fully customized based on the individual. There are no fixed templates, no preset training blocks, and no standardized progression model.

Instead, programming is adjusted continuously based on:

  • Current capacity and training history
  • Injury history and movement limitations
  • Recovery status and real-time feedback
  • Individual goals and constraints

This is the most adaptive and personalized level of service offered and is designed for individuals who require ongoing modification rather than structured cycles.

Philosophy of Care and Coaching

Across both clinical and performance settings, the approach stays consistent: reduce unnecessary complexity and focus on what actually drives change.

Whether in a rehab setting or a strength training environment, progress comes from:

  • Appropriate loading
  • Consistent exposure
  • Clear progression
  • And honest feedback loops over time

The difference is not in philosophy, it’s in application. Clinical care is corrective and rehabilitative. Training is performance-driven and progressive.

Who This Is For

Upper Edge Physio is designed for individuals who want structure without confusion.

This includes people who:

  • Want clarity in both rehab and training
  • Prefer systems over random workouts or guesswork
  • Are transitioning from injury back into performance
  • Value consistency and progression over constant variation

Important Scope Clarification

In-person physical therapy is a licensed healthcare service delivered within a clinical setting and is the only context in which diagnosis and treatment are provided.

Remote programming, coaching, and educational content are not physical therapy and do not establish a clinical relationship. These services are intended for fitness, strength development, and performance education only.
